KEGG   ENZYME: 5.3.3.7
Entry
EC 5.3.3.7                  Enzyme
Name
aconitate Delta-isomerase;
aconitate isomerase
Class
Isomerases;
Intramolecular oxidoreductases;
Transposing C=C bonds
Sysname
aconitate Delta2-Delta3-isomerase
Reaction(IUBMB)
trans-aconitate = cis-aconitate [RN:R02244]
Reaction(KEGG)
R02244
Substrate
trans-aconitate [CPD:C02341]
Product
cis-aconitate [CPD:C00417]
Comment
cis-Aconitate is used to designate the isomer (Z)-prop-1-ene-1,2,3-tricarboxylate. This isomerization could take place either in a direct cis-trans interconversion or by an allylic rearrangement; the enzyme has been shown to catalyse the latter change.
