  1. To further understand the catalytic mechanism of MenB, it was co-crystallized with the product analogue 1-hydroxy-2-naphthoyl-CoA or salicylyl-CoA. Ligand-dependent active-site closure was revealed in the crystal structure.

  2. A systematic increase in the expression of the menB gene product was observed in cultures grown under oxygen depleted conditions.
