Summary
acrA was first identified as an acridine sensitive mutation. acrA is a mutational suppressor of topA deletion inviability in low osmolarity medium. [More information is available at EcoGene: EG11703]. AcrA is the periplasmic lipoprotein component of the AcrAB-TolC multidrug efflux pump in Escherichia coli and can function in chimeric constructions with three other RND-family pumps, AcrD, AcrF and YhiV. [More information is available at EcoCyc: EG11703].
