Benign urethral polyp of prostatic urethra

Urology. 1975 Jul;6(1):34-6. doi: 10.1016/0090-4295(75)90588-9.

Abstract

Benign fibroepithelial polyps of the posterior urethra are rare lesions, usually presenting with obstructive symptoms. Most often they occur in the pediatric age group and are believed to be of congenital origin. Our patient, a fifty-nine-year-old man, represents the oldest case reported in the English literature. Current thoughts on diagnosis, associated urologic findings, treatment and possible cause are discussed.
