Purification of lactose synthetase a protein from human milk and demonstration of its interaction with alpha-lactalbumin

FEBS Lett. 1970 Aug 31;9(5):297-300. doi: 10.1016/0014-5793(70)80382-9.

Abstract

A fairly simple procedure for isolating lactose synthetase A protein from human milk in 36% yield is described. The A protein has a molecular weight of about 40,000. Its interaction with alpha-lactalbumin in the presence of N-acetylglucosamine has been demonstrated by affinity chromatography and gel filtration.
