Abstract
Drosophila genetics has provided the Hedgehog signaling pathway with roughly ordered components, but few mechanistic connections. Several studies now show that the kinesin-related protein Costal-2 provides a physical link between the transmembrane transducer Smoothened and the transcriptional effector Cubitus interruptus.
