Abstract

Introduction: To investigate whether HLA-G gene polymorphism is associated with adverse pregnancy outcome, we screened exons 2, 3, 4 of HLA-G gene in 59 women with reproductive failure and 36 fertile women. The HLA-G 10108 allele was more common in the group of examined women than in women from the control group (OR = 5,9; p = 0,09), but this difference was not statistically significant.

Results: We conclude that the HLA-G 10108 allele might influence pregnancy outcome in the Polish population, but further studies are needed in this regard.
