A protein that is a translation product of an evolutionary-related gene with core domain composition consisting of an N-terminal Protein kinase domain (Pfam:PF00069), a Rho Binding domain (Pfam:PF08912), and a PH domain (Pfam:PF00169) and a Phorbol esters/diacylglycerol binding domain (C1 domain) (Pfam:PF00130) at the C-terminus. Rho-associated protein kinases are mediators of many cellular processes by being effectors of the small GTP-binding protein Rho.
