Me18S-G1952, snoRNA:Me18S-G1952
The gene C/D box small nucleolar RNA 42 is referred to in FlyBase by the symbol Dmel\snoRNA:CD42 (CR34536, FBgn0082950). It is a C_D_box_snoRNA_gene from Dmel. It has one annotated transcript. Gene sequence location is 2R:14622804..14622875. Its molecular function is unknown. The biological processes in which it is involved are not known. No alleles are reported. Summary of modENCODE Temporal Expression Profile: Temporal profile ranges from a peak of very low expression to a trough of no expression detected. Peak expression observed within 06-24 hour embryonic stages, during early larval stages. CAVEAT: These RNA-Seq temporal profiles depend upon RNA-Seq reads that are uniquely placed in the genome. For this reason, genes such as histones, Stellates and many classes of RNA genes that are present in multiple exact or near exact copies in the genome, expression levels may be reported as much lower than their true values.

The testis specificity index was calculated from modENCODE tissue expression data by Vedelek et al., 2018 to indicate the degree of testis enrichment compared to other tissues. Scores range from -2.52 (underrepresented) to 5.2 (very high testis bias).

Please Note This section lists cDNAs and ESTs that fall within the genomic extent of the gene model, which may include cDNAs and ESTs of genes within introns, or of overlapping genes. Please see JBrowse for alignment of the cDNAs and ESTs to the gene model.
For each fully sequenced cDNA the DGRC maintains various forms of the cDNA (e.g tagged or untagged) in several different host vectors for subsequent cloning and expression in Drosophila and Drosophila cell lines.
