Definition

Rat-bite fever (RBF) is a systemic bacterial zoonosis occurring in individuals that have been bitten or scratched by <i>Streptobacillus moniliformis</i> or <i>Spirillum minus</i>-infected rats and characterized by high fever, a rash on the extremities, and arthralgia. [from ORDO]
