show Abstracthide AbstractAlthough draft genomes of snakes have been published, genome information on the most primitive of snakes, blind snakes, is only available for one species, and the quality of this genome draft is not very good. Thus we have sequenced the entire genome of the Brahminy blindsnake (Indotyphlops brahminus) in order to produce a novel, high-quality genome draft in the blindsnake group. It should be noted that this species is known as the only and complete parthenogenetic species of snakes and have hetero triploidy nature. Therefore, genomic information on this species is useful for considering the genome evolution of snake species and the development and maintenance of parthenogenetic taxa. Furthermore, this snake is distributed on all continents of the world by artificial distribution. The snake therefore has the potential to be a useful model reptile that can be collected in many countries, and the genomic information further accelerates accelerates its usefulness as a model organism of this species.
