What's a GeneRIF?
  1. Results show that despite being commonly used housekeeping genes neither GAPDH mRNA nor beta-actin mRNA is expressed in all cell types or tissues at high levels. Strikingly, expression levels are very low in some organs.
    Title: Histological evidence: housekeeping genes beta-actin and GAPDH are of limited value for normalization of gene expression.
  2. beta-actin is a substrate for native chick telencephalon-cell transglutaminase 1 and recombinant human TGM1 in vitro. TGM1 stabilizes the actin cytoskeleton by cross-linking.
    Title: Beta-actin is a target for transglutaminase activity at synaptic endings in chicken telencephalic cell cultures.
  3. Results suggest that actin acts as a classical transcription factor for the virus by divalent-cation-dependent binding to the viral template and that profilin acts as a transcriptional cofactor, in part by associating with actin.
