Description | 14-Hydroperoxy-H4-neuroprostane, also known as 14-H4-NeuroP, is a member of the class of compounds known as prostaglandins and related compounds. Prostaglandins and related compounds are unsaturated carboxylic acids consisting of a 20 carbon skeleton that also contains a five-member ring, and are based upon the fatty acid arachidonic acid. 14-Hydroperoxy-H4-neuroprostane is practically insoluble (in water) and a weakly acidic compound (based on its pKa). Within the cell, 14-hydroperoxy-H4-neuroprostane is primarily located in the membrane (predicted from logP). It can also be found in the extracellular space. |
