These are organic compounds containing a piperazine ring where the nitrogen ring atom carries an alkyl group. 15(R)-hydroperoxy-EPE is a very strong basic compound (based on its pKa). A HEPES that is ethanesulfonic acid in which one of the methyl hydrogens is replaced by a 4-(2-hydroxyethyl)piperazin-1-yl group.
