Definition

A benign, elongated intraluminal polypoid neoplasm of the esophagus. It is characterized by the presence of adipose tissue lobules separated by dense fibrous tissue bands and dilated blood vessels. The polyp is covered by normal squamous epithelium. [from NCI]
