Summary
Enables peptidoglycan binding activity and peptidoglycan immune receptor activity. Involved in defense response to other organism; regulation of defense response; and regulation of synaptic plasticity. Located in apicolateral plasma membrane; cytoplasmic vesicle; and presynapse. Is integral component of plasma membrane. Is expressed in adult Malpighian tubule; embryonic dorsal epidermis; embryonic large intestine; embryonic ventral epidermis; and embryonic/larval lymph gland. Orthologous to human PGLYRP2 (peptidoglycan recognition protein 2). [provided by Alliance of Genome Resources, Apr 2022]
