Mbnl2 is strongly expressed in the rat pineal gland. Mbnl2 mRNA and protein exhibit a circadian rhythm with ~ sevenfold higher values at night than day levels. Mbnl2 mRNA and protein levels are controlled by an adrenergic/cAMP mechanism.
