  • Catalases are antioxidant enzymes that catalyse the conversion of hydrogen peroxide to water and molecular oxygen. EST support only from stress conditions as oval morphotype, Fe-limit or decadienal treatment. T. pseudonana is lacking this type of catalase and instead it has the bifunctional haem-containing peroxidase/catalases which is also present in P.tricornutum.
